HOLIDAY RENTALS ABROAD ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The rate quoted will always include:
Unlimited mileage except sometimes for Canada and Australia.
Third party insurance.
Collision damage waiver.
Theft waiver.
Airport surcharges.
Bail bonds (Spain).
All local taxes, except Israel and Australia where they have to be paid locally by law.
Insurance Excess:
Even where insurance excess is included in the rate the rental operator almost always will take a credit card excess deposit. Where excess is stated as being included, in the event of an accident the operator must be informed within 24 hours and you should complete and obtain a copy of the accident report form. The police should be informed and a copy of the police report obtained. Where the procedure is followed and the documentation provided, we will be able to refund the excess.
The rate does not include:
Personal accident insurance. It is likely your normal holiday insurance will cover this, but it is often offered at the rental desk. You should check your travel insurance to make sure you are covered.
Fuel - Usually a credit card slip is taken which will be destroyed if the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel. Sometimes you will be told to return the vehicle empty, the rental operator effectively selling a tank of fuel.
There may be a charge for delivery and collection, other than the normal rental location, and for transactions out of normal hours in some locations. We would always advise at the time of booking.
Optional extras such as roof racks and child seats are always paid locally, again will always advise at the time of booking.
Insurance does not cover damage to tyres, windows, the roof, underside or interior. It also does not cover wilful or negligent damage, theft of the contents, or the cost or replacing lost keys.
In the unfortunate event of being unable to travel you can purchase cancellation insurance for £5 per rental week. Otherwise cancellation charges may apply.
